The seamless integration of a webshop based on Magento or Adobe Commerce with adjacent PIM and ERP systems requires an efficient data synchronization. Magento does support the import of key objects, but offers only insufficient performance for integration scenarios. Therefore, DELABYTE utilizes the open-source framework Pacemaker. It is high-performing and thus suitable for regular synchronization of large amounts of data.
Pacemaker is an open-source import framework for Magento. It is primarily developed by the Magento agency Techdivision, which, based on a free version, also distributes more comprehensive packages of the middleware platform for Magento.
Magento's standard import is mainly suitable for bringing data into Magento once. In contrast, Pacemaker offers significantly better performance and is therefore very well suited for regular data synchronization with surrounding systems.
We use the framework to integrate Magento or Adobe Commerce as effectively as possible into our clients' IT landscapes. It plays a key role in connecting Product Information Systems (PIM), Enterprise Resource Planning Systems (ERP), and synchronizing inventory with other third-party systems.
While Magento's import function is primarily designed for one-time reading of inventory, product data, customer data, and addresses, Pacemaker enables regular, high-performance data imports from external systems. It also allows for the import of attributes, categories, and tiered pricing. The open-source framework uses the specially developed Magento 2 Import Framework (M2IF) for this purpose. It accepts CSV files in the same format as the standard import function as input but reads the data at a much higher speed. Online shop operators benefit from the use of Pacemaker for more efficient integration of their existing systems with Magento.
"Pacemaker offers outstanding performance for importing data into Magento, making it an important player in interoperability with surrounding systems."
